Spain’s Navantia has been selected to support the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) in upgrading its landing platform dock, HTMS Chang (792), through the integration of multiple ship systems.
The agreement includes the delivery and integration of a combat management system (CMS), fire control system (FCS), surveillance and weapon systems, gyroscopes, and related equipment. Navantia will install its CATIZ CMS and DORNA FCS as part of the project.
The upgrade aims to improve the ship’s command, control, and combat readiness. The RTN plans to enhance overall interoperability and capability across its fleet through this project.
Navantia has previously worked with the RTN on the aircraft carrier HTMS Chakri Naruebet (911), currently serving as the fleet’s flagship. The new contract builds on this earlier cooperation and will also involve Thailand’s Mahidol Dockyard. The partnership includes local collaboration on system installation and integration.
