Hanwha Aerospace has signed a term sheet agreement with WB Group, Poland’s largest private defence company, to establish a joint venture aimed at manufacturing guided missiles for the Homar-K Multiple Rocket Launch System.
Under the agreement, Hanwha will hold a 51% stake in the new venture, while WB Electronics, a subsidiary of WB Group, will hold the remaining 49%. The launch of the joint venture is pending approval from Poland’s Antimonopoly Committee.
The venture will produce 80km-range CGR-80 guided missiles for the Homar-K system—Poland’s version of the South Korean K239 Chunmoo launcher—and jointly market them across Europe. The Homar-K program already integrates Polish-made elements including the Jelcz 8x8 chassis and the Topaz combat management system from WB.
The new plant is envisioned as a supply hub not only for Polish forces but also for other European militaries.
Since 2022, Hanwha Aerospace has signed two executive contracts with Poland to supply 290 Chunmoo rocket artillery systems capable of launching both 80km- and 290km-range guided rockets.
