Finmeccanica wins contracts worth more than EUR 140 million

Finmeccanica has won contracts with a total value of more than EUR 140 million through its companies DRS, SELEX Sistemi Integrati, SELEX Galileo, SELEX Communications and Ansaldo Energia. Specifically, DRS Technical Services Inc., a DRS Defense Solutions company, through its Maritime & Security Solutions business unit, was awarded a contract worth up to $100 million to enhance and expand the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency’s license plate reader (LPR) program. DRS will use Elsag North America cameras, processors and special license plate reading software in support of the CBP mission. DRS Technologies, Inc. has received a $22 million contract from the U.S. Air Force for the reset/overhaul of Tunner 60K Cargo Loader/Transporters. SELEX Sistemi Integrati signed a contract worth 9 million dollar with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). The supply refers to the installation of six mode S secondary radars. With this new contract, SELEX Sistemi Integrati has become the first air traffic control systems supplier in China with a total of 50 airports equipped, which are deputed to manage about 50% of the Chinese air traffic. SELEX Galileo announces its successful participation in the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD)’s Project Baker. The Company has been awarded contracts worth in excess of £10 Million as part of an Urgent Operational Requirement (UOR) to provide an integrated Defensive Aids System (DAS) for the RAF's Chinook Mk2 and Mk3 helicopters. SELEX Communications has won a contract worth EUR 4,7 million from the Italian Regione Veneto to supply a TETRA net for local Police that will enhance and expand the regional radio communication system already in service. Ansaldo Energia has won a contract worth approximately EUR 35 million from Shanghai Electric Group of Companies (S.E.C.) for the supply of one AE 94.2 gas turbine to be installed in the Sylhet Power Station (Bangladesh).
