General Electric wins $414 million contract for logistics from US Defense

General Electric Aviation, Lynn, Mass., is being awarded a $414,562,141 three- and one- half-year performance based logistics contract for repair, replacement, consumables support, and program support for F414 engine components used on the F/A-18, E, F, and EA-18G aircraft. Work will be performed in Jacksonville, Fla., and is expected to be completed by December 2014. Contract funds will not expire before the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not awarded through full and open competition. One firm was solicited and one offer was received. The Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity .
