General Dynamics Wins $115M Contract for Amphibious Ship Work from US DoD

General Dynamics, NASSCO, Norfolk, Va., is being awarded a $115,016,340 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-09-C-4416) for amphibious landing ship USS Oak Hill (LSD 51) to extended dry docking, modernization, upgrades, repairs and alterations to several shipboard systems such as the engineering control systems, power management platform, and chilled water distribution systems for the LSD-class amphibious landing ships. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va., and is expected to be completed by June 2013. Contract funds in the amount of $65,870,525 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively awarded using a formal source selection process. The Norfolk Ship Support Activity, Norfolk, Va., is the contracting activity.
