A Yemeni military plane on a training flight crashed early Wednesday in the capital city of Sanaa killing 10 people on board, according to officials. The Antonov aircraft crashed into an abandoned empty market in al-Hassaba district destroying several shops, the officials said. According to officials, the pilot tried to make an emergency landing after one of the engines failed and that there was no indication of sabotage in the crash. "The plane tried to land in an empty space in Hasaba, but because of a technical problem it crashed and ten of the crew died," the official was quoted as saying. Witnesses on the ground said that the plane was completely burnt and that thick black smoke engulfed the area.
