Rockwell Collins and Tata Power have combined their efforts to jointly bid on an Indian Air Force contract as the defense aerospace giant looks to expand its partnerships in India. The two companies will bid to win the supply software defined radios, according to TC Chan, Rockwell’s managing director for Asia Pacific. “India is trying to update systems across navy, army and air force and that’s one big area,” Chan said. The nation’s “requirements are going to be for the longer term”. Rockwell Collins joins the likes of Boeing and Lockheed Martin who are also seeking contracts from India.
