Nexter Systems, a European leader of land defence unveiled TITUS, a new armoured wheeled vehicle at the DSEi 2013 show.

Through its unrivaled level of modularity based on combat missions kits, operational environment kits and a wide family of variants, TITUS is able to fulfill the full range of missions from Infantry transport to combat missions, combat support and combat service support functions, in any kind of type of commitments likely to occur in a hybrid conflict.

From Infantry transport to combat support and combat service support functions, from Peace Keeping Operation to Counter Insurgency, TITUS brings the technology and the Nexter touch into the heart of the action.

TITUS is mounted on a Tatra 6x6 chassis, coupled with an engine of 440Hp (550Hp in option) offering an exceptional mobility. Wrapped with an armored skin of last generation, from level 2 to level 4, TITUS is also protected against mines (4a/4b) and IEDs blasts (up to 150kg), by the original Nexter SAFEPRO design (hanged floor, energy absorbing seats…). RPG protection (PG Guard can be added). Thus, the units can be committed into the battlefield quickly and safely.

Furthermore, to allow the crew (Driver, Gunner and Tactical commander) and the embarked squad to last a long time on the terrain, an exceptional effort of habitability has been done by Nexter in the hull. Internal volume is beyond 14m3, added by 4m3 of storage, and, as the hull -without obstacle from front to back- opens towards outside by a ramp with a minimal ground step (280mm), egress and ingress are really facilitated.

TITUS can be equipped with Remote Control Weapon Station from 7,62mm to 20mm, and 40mm Grenade Launchers as well, depending on the level of threats. All of them are coupled with thermal sensors of last generation and Laser Range Finders. Two Light Machine Guns can be added on the rear top of the vehicle.

TITUS is fully integrated within the C4I network through last generation vetronics. Nexter Battlefield Management System FINDERS provides a situational awareness, enhanced by a perimetric camera system, and reconnaissance robot, allowing a safe dismounting.

To meet all the threat environments, TITUS is customizable in different configurations with low intensity: 7,62 mm RCWS, protection level 2, forward crowd fence, dozer blade, non-lethal weapons, a conventional warfare: 12,7 or 20mm RCWS, 40mm grenade launchers, protection level 3, jammers, shoot detectors and  Counter-Insurgency / Military Operation in Urban Terrain: Additional Light Machine Guns on the back, protection level 4, bar armour against RPG, add on armour on windows, cable cutters and more.

TITUS offers an exceptional mobility. Protection is also at the core of TITUS conception. The vehicle is wrapped up with a last generation modular armoured skin, providing a ballistic level 2 to level 4, mines level 4a and 4b, and IEDs blasts up to 150 kg, increased by the original Nexter SAFEPRO design.
