General Dynamics will provide technical support to the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) NextGen Integration and Evaluation Capability laboratory.

The FAA task order, under its Systems Engineering Support 2020 Program, is for five years and carries a value of $12 million.

"We understand the FAA's processes, technologies, goals and vision for its NextGen modernization program," said Frank Anstett, vice president of General Dynamics Information Technology's transportation business unit. "We look forward to continuing our relationship as a trusted partner delivering innovative services and support to the NextGen Integration and Evaluation Capability."

The NextGen modernization program is to transform the National Airspace System from a ground-based system of air traffic control to a satellite-based system of air traffic management.

Under the task order, General Dynamics will provide engineering, operations, software design and development, infrastructure and administrative support to the NIEC laboratory, which explores, integrates and evaluates next-generation technologies.
