MASA Group will showcase the unique features, benefits and attributes of MASA SWORD and MASA LIFE at I/ITSEC from 2-5 December 2013.
At the event, Brazilian Army officials will also share unique insights from their recent three-week exercise using SWORD - the country's first large-scale command staff training exercise using a next generation constructive simulation system.
SWORD is the leading constructive simulation software designed to improve training, analysis, and decision-support for commanding officers in both the military and the emergency preparedness sectors. MASA will use I/ITSEC to introduce SWORD's latest functionalities such as a new timeline tool that enables better planning capabilities and a synthetic view of the situation. New features also include an enhanced administration tool for SWORD in the cloud, support for international exercises with multi-language models, and additional public safety doctrine behaviors.
SWORD combines the most advanced intelligent-life technology with realism, flexibility and ease of use. A commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) product, which can be quickly customized for bespoke requirements, SWORD is also interoperable with a comprehensive range of simulations and C2/C4I systems. These unique attributesrecently ensured its selection by the Brazilian Army - a recent major contract win for the company- who is now using a customized version of SWORD (named COMBATER) to train command staff at battalion, brigade, division and army levels. Increasingly, SWORD has become the command staff training solution of choice for several armies throughout the world within the past couple of years.
In addition to SWORD, the company will also feature the new version of LIFE. The software, a creative suite of tools, introduces a ground-breaking behaviour modeling workflow where developers, game-designers, or subject matter experts can work collaboratively to create realistic behaviours for autonomous Non-Player Characters (NPCs). Thanks to its user-friendly graphical authoring tool, LIFE empowers non-technical users (such as doctrine experts) to author, execute, and debug autonomous, reusable behaviours within minutes. LIFE can be integrated into any simulation or 3D game engine. As examples of such integrations, MASA will present an integration of LIFE with VBS2 throughout the I/ITSEC exhibition at its booth.
"Decision makers have come to rely on MASA's products and technology to prepare for large scale military operations as well as for the management of emergencies such as natural or man-made disasters", said MASA Group's CEO Juan-Pablo Torres. "Our solutions allow for improved training effectiveness while saving time and money, as the recent large-scale command staff training exercise in Brazil can attest".
