Tsahi (Zak) Sucher, Business Development at Techaya talks about the companys primary customers, its communication solutions for ground, air and naval applications as well as its latest R&D innovations.
DW : Can you give us an overview of Techaya and the kind of defense solutions you provide?
Tsahi Sucher: Techaya is an experienced designer, developer and manufacturer of rugged, minimal SWaP, MIL-STD compliant communications devices for ground, air and naval applications. The company had various lines of products that are integrated and operational on a variety of platforms – starting from a single soldier, going through any kind and size of unmanned platforms, Fixed and rotary wing aircraft, AFVs, missiles, ships, vessels and submarines. Among the company's products are high-end Ethernet switches (managed and unmanaged), USB Systems, Media converters, routers and more. As well as off-the-shelf products, Techaya also provides adaptation and customization of its products according to the customers needs.
DW : Who are your primary customers?
Tsahi Sucher: Techaya's customer base is broad and diverse and include world-leading integrators, such as Lockheed Martin, Elbit System, Rafael, BAHARAT BEL etc. In some cases we work directly with the end user – leading armies and air forces.
DW : What is the MILTECH 9012? How does it work?
Tsahi Sucher: The MILTECH™ 9012 is a MIL-STD Fully managed network switch router offering 12 triple speed (10/100/1000) ports. The MILTECH™ 9012 is compatible with all the newest military industry network protocols for redundant link topology, security, multi-cast and management requirements. Leveraging best-in-class switching technology from Techaya, the MILTECH™ 9012 serves as a robust COTS solution for providing local area network (LAN) connectivity to IP-enabled computing and net-centric devices. Compact in size, the MILTECH™ 9012 is particularly useful for expanding port density to tactical IP routers in space-constrained airborne and ground vehicle environments. MILTECH™ 9012 is specifically designed for Data Acquisition & Transmission, Battlefield Communications C4ISR, Rugged Networks, Mobile Communications, Combat vehicles, Avionic & Shipboard Systems.
DW : Could you tell us more about the Modern Soldier program? Where is this product being marketed primarily?
Tsahi Sucher: Techaya's military-grade, ultra-compact Ethernet solutions will play an important role in every future soldier program. Providing connectivity to the future infantryman, Techaya's Ethernet switches, USB hubs and flexible communications grids has the smallest size, weight and power (SWaP) available in the industry today.
DW : Can you give us an overview of your C4ISR and battlefield communications solutions?
Tsahi Sucher: Techaya’s entire line of COTS, military-grade rugged Ethernet switches, routers and media converters are purpose built for battlefield communications applications with a wide range products, capabilities and SWaP features.
DW : What is your R&D division currently working on?
Tsahi Sucher: Our R&D division is always working on new products, looking for new technologies to make our solutions even more compact, and adding more capabilities to existing products.
