Russian Helicopters will bring a number of commercial and military models to the Africa Aerospace and Defence 2014 (AAD 2014) aerospace and security exhibition in Pretoria, South Africa, from 17-21 September.
Among the models on show designed for operation in Africa will be the multirole Ka-32A11BC, which is currently in serial production and holds type certification. The upgraded Mi-171A2 and the new Ka-62 will be demonstrated as highly anticipated new models, the company said in a statement.
Russian Helicopters and Rosoboronexport will jointly hold a number of presentations of military helicopters, including Mi-8/17-series military transport helicopters such as the Mi-171Sh and Mi-17V-5. These helicopters can be fitted with weapons and are marketed to security forces across the region to combat irregular armed units and secure the economic interests of their respective countries.
In addition, security and police forces will be shown the Ansat helicopter and its training version, the Ansat-U, which are marketed to regional operators as a light police helicopter and a reliable solution for training crews across different categories.
Rescue workers and emergency services from the region will be shown the multirole Ka-32A11BC. This coaxial helicopter is ideally suited to firefighting missions, coping with the aftermath of emergency situations and supporting construction work in challenging conditions.
