The Indian state of Goa's government websites were hacked by allegedly Palestinian hackers today.
Six websites from various departments were reportedly targeted. According the Cyber Crime Police, the servers used to hack the sites were traced back to Palestine, IANS reported.
However, no group has taken responsibility for the attack so far nor has a formal complaint been filed with the authorities.
In an earlier incident three weeks ago, the website of the Goa Governor was hacked by Pakistani hackers. The said website is available with limited functions.
The websites have been taken offline as a precautionary measure, an officer attached to the Goa Police Cyber Cell told IANS.
Goa’s former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar was recently appointed India’s new Defense Minister.
