Exelis Appoints New Vice President For Electronic Warfare Systems Business

Exelis announced today that it has appointed Peter Martin as vice president and general manager of its electronic attack and release systems business on Long Island, New York.

Martin's career has spanned a range of functions within Exelis, including program management, manufacturing and technology development. He has been responsible for leading teams that have successfully deployed technology on a wide range of platforms that include the F-35 Lightning II, P-8 Poseidon, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-15 Eagle, B-52 Stratofortress and C-130 Hercules, as well as unmanned aircraft and classified programs.

"Peter has continually demonstrated the exceptional leadership, insight and commitment to our customers that will help advance their missions and our own business objectives," said Rich Sorelle, corporate vice president and president of Exelis Electronic Systems.

A graduate of the Exelis leadership development program at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business, Martin holds a green belt in Six Sigma process management and a bachelor of science in business administration and management. Prior to joining Exelis, Martin served as a cryptologic linguist in the US Air Force.
