Elbit Systems has won a contract worth about $90 million from the Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD) to maintain the Israeli Air Force's (IAF) F-16 array's avionics systems for 11 years.

The project also includes the establishment of a new and cutting edge national maintenance center for the IAF's squadrons and bases. Elbit Systems has operational experience in performing outsourcing logistic support services for customers both in Israel and abroad.

In addition to a variety of maintenance projects Elbit Systems provides to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), it also serves many customers worldwide, including in the U.S. and Brazil.

"The company has recognized the growing global trend of maintenance and logistic support services performed via outsourcing. This method of service provides availability of the relevant systems while saving costs," Bezhalel (Butzi) Machlis, President and CEO of Elbit System said.
