General Dynamics Mission Systems Offers New Capabilities To The US Navy

General Dynamics Mission Systems will support the US Navy in its efforts to maintain, train and equip combat-ready naval forces.

The company was formed by merging General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems with General Dynamics C4 Systems on Jan 1 to offer a range of portfolios for the US Navy.

Among its portfolios is building the Afloat Forward Staging Base (AFSB). Another is the  Common Network Interface (CNI) which offers functional system improvements for LHA and LHD class ships, allowing these ships to interoperate more effectively with other modern ships in the fleet.

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems provides mission-related systems development, integration and operations support and C4 Systems is a leading integrator of secure communications, information systems and technology.

Between two divisions, the company has approximately 13,100 employees; said General Dynamics Mission Systems President Chris Marzilli was quoted as saying by Berkshire Eagle.

"This restructuring has allowed us to create a real powerhouse. We are stronger together and offer a more robust portfolio of products, services and solutions that help customers successfully execute their missions in today's dynamic environment," Chris Marzilli, president of General Dynamics Mission Systems said at the Surface Navy Association's (SNA) 27th National Symposium.
