Embraer Participates in Africa Aerospace and Defence 2008

Embraer will participating in Africa’s largest aerospace, defense, and security exhibition – Africa Aerospace & Defence (AAD 2008) – at Ysterplaat Air Force Base, near Cape Town, South Africa, from September 17 to 21. The 2006 show drew more than 22,000 trade visitors from Africa and other countries, plus 90,000 visitors on the public days. With a full-scale mock-up of the Phenom 300 being displayed for the first time in South Africa, the Company will promote its full complement of executive jets, consisting of the Phenom 100, Phenom 300, Legacy 450, Legacy 500, Legacy 600, and Lineage 1000 jets. First deliveries of the Phenom 100 and the Lineage 1000 are scheduled for the second half of this year; while the Phenom 300 is due to enter service in 2009. The midsize Legacy 500 and the midlight Legacy 450 jets, formally introduced last April, are expected to enter service in the second half of 2012 and 2013, respectively. “We are pleased to participate, once again, in the AAD 2008 show, exhibiting the Phenom 300 full-scale mock-up for the first time,” said Colin Steven, Embraer Vice President, Marketing and Sales – Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Executive Jets. “Visitors will experience the spacious cabin, comfortable seats, large baggage compartment, and Garmin’s state-of-the-art Prodigy flight deck of this jet, which already enjoys great acceptance in several countries throughout Africa”. The Defense and Government segment will promote the Embraer ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) Systems based on the successful ERJ 145 regional jet platform, the Super Tucano advanced trainer and light attack turboprop, and jets designed for transporting government officials. “It is a pleasure to attend AAD, Africa’s largest aerospace, defense, and security exhibition,” said Eduardo Munhós de Campos, Embraer Vice President Marketing and Sales – Americas and South Africa, Defense and Government Market. “This is an outstanding opportunity to promote our product portfolio, mainly the EMB 145 AEW&C, already in operation in Brazil, Greece, and Mexico, and recently sold to India.
