India is likely to finalize a major defence deal worth about $1.5 billion for two more Israeli Phalcon AWACS (airborne warning and control system) and four aerostat radars.

The deal is anticipated in light of Israel's defence minister Moshe Ya'alon’s visit to Bangalore for the Aero-India show. He will be accompanied by the director-general Major General (retd) Dan Harel and the CEOs of major Israeli defence companies.

Advanced Israeli Phalcon AWACS are able to detect enemy aircraft, cruise missiles and other incoming aerial threat earlier than ground-based radars.
