General Dynamics’ team announced today that it has won US Army’s $415 million Live Training Transformation (LT2) Consolidated Product-line Management (CPM) Next contract.

The original CPM program contract was awarded in 2009 by the Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) Program Manager for Training Devices (PM TRADE).

General Dynamics team will continue managing the Army's LT2 live training systems that include nearly 300 training ranges worldwide, with training that scales from individual soldiers to brigades participating in live force-on-force and force-on-target training.  The CPM Next award is a five-year contract with a total potential value of $415 million.

Chris Marzilli, president of General Dynamics Mission Systems, said, "Over the past five years, General Dynamics has saved hundreds of millions of dollars in training system sustainment and maintenance costs for the US Army. The savings created an opportunity to fund investments in evolving and creating new capabilities across the Army's global training enterprise."

The LT2 CPM Next contract will help the Army continue to reduce the costs and complexity associated with maintaining its diverse portfolio of training systems. The team will also rapidly integrate new training capabilities, directly supporting a soldier's ability to be ready for operations in today's complex mission environment.

A provision in the contract encourages other US Department of Defense organizations and US Department of Homeland Security agencies to participate in the LT2 Product Line to create and manage their training products for cost-savings and overall training efficiencies.

General Dynamics is the prime contractor for LT2 CPM Next program.
