HAL, BEL Join Hands to Develop Advanced Airborne Communication Equipment

Indian government owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) have agreed to pool resources to share the business from the Indian defence services in airborne communication equipment.

HAL has the expertise in design, development, engineering, manufacture of airborne communications equipment, whereas BEL has the expertise in design, development, engineering and manufacture of communications and secrecy products and solutions.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed in Bangalore yesterday, a BEL press release said.  

Quarterly review of the MoU will be held under the Chairmanship of Director (R&D)-BEL andDirector (Engg, R&D)-HAL. The MoU sets to define the roles and responsibilities of both the companies for development of specific airborne communication equipment.
