India has commissioned a MiG 29K Aircraft Training Simulator Facility at its Naval Institute of Aeronautical Technology (NIAT) in Kochi.
“The simulator training facility is set up by Indian Navy and is part of the MiG-29K Aircraft contract for imparting real time training to air crew and technical personnel on all systems of the aircraft and associated maintenance requirements,” Indian Navy press release stated.
“A MiG 29K Aircraft Training Simulator Facility is commissioned at Naval Institute of Aeronautical Technology, Kochi,” Indian MoD spokesperson Sitanshu Kar posted on the micro-blogging site (twitter) along with a picture of Vice Admiral Sunil Lanba, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command earlier today.
According to the Indian Navy press statement, the navy post induction of INS Vikramaditya which carries the fourth generation fighter MiG-29K on board, it has become necessary to set up an emergent training facility.
