Iran has unveiled a torpedo-armed watercraft capable of both on and under water operations.
The indigenous submersible watercraft, ‘Zolfaqar’ is 17-meter long and weighs 22 tons. It can travel at a speed of 40 knots or 70 kilometers per hour on the surface, Fars news agency reported Monday.
Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy unveiled the watercraft for the first time at a public exhibition on Saturday.
The watercraft is equipped with a four meter long torpedo capable of targeting aircraft carriers, vessels weighing up to 200 tons as well as oil platforms and loading and unloading docks.
