India Clears 32 Defense And Explosive Manufacturing Proposals

India’s inter-ministerial committee has cleared 32 proposals for setting up manufacturing units in defense and explosive sectors.

Of the 32 proposals cleared 25 of them were from defense manufacturing sector and seven from explosive sector.

The committee was chaired by Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) Secretary Amitabh Kant.

11 proposals from eight Reliance Infra subsidiaries gained conditional approval for making aircraft, helicopters, missiles, night vision gear and naval and land systems. The subsidiaries include Reliance Defence Technologies Pvt Ltd, Reliance Helicopters, Reliance Propulsion Systems Ltd, Reliance Aero-structure Ltd and Reliance Naval Systems Ltd.
