Terms Of Reference May Hinder Pak’s Participation In Pathankot Investigation

Difficulty in arriving at ‘terms of reference’ may hinder Pakistan’s participation in the investigation of Pathankot air base attack.

Pakistan’s media reported that two nations' national security advisers (NSA) will be meeting shortly to fix the ‘terms of reference’ of the investigation team scheduled to arrive at Pathankot from Islamabad.

However, the Express Tribune newspaper said in a joint dateline report from New Delhi and Islamabad that fixing the terms of reference will be extremely difficult, presumably due to the negative atmospherics between the two countries.

Pakistan’s media also reported that some unnamed security sources of India’s western neighbor harbored serious doubts in terms of the accomplishing task the two NSAs are expected to undertake.

Indian Army chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag was quoted as saying by PTI in a press conference that the security environment facing the nation was becoming more "complex and dynamic" and that at least 17 militant training camps remained active in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, from earlier 42.

During 26/11, Pakistan suggested that they would like to send a team to survey the sites the terrorists attacked. But it was immediately turned down by India.
