India has test fired indigenous Prithvi-II surface-to-air missile from a test range in the eastern state of Odisha.
"The missile was test fired from the Integrated Test Range in Odisha as part of a user trial by the Indian Army. The test firing has been successful," sources said Tuesday.
Prithvi-II has a strike range of 300 km and is capable of carrying up to 1,000 kg of warheads. The missile was inducted into the armed forces in 2003 and the last user trial was carried out in November last year.
