An F-16 fighter jet belonging to UAE is reportedly missing while taking part in operations against Iran-backed rebels in Yemen.

The General Command of the Armed Forces today announced the loss of a fighter aircraft while participating in the Saudi-led Arab Coalition's Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen, WAM, Emirates news agency reported Monday.

Two Emirati pilots were killed when their fighter jet crashed during a mission against Houthi rebels in Yemen, the Saudi-led coalition was quoted as saying by BBC today.

A coalition statement said the plane had suffered a technical failure.
