Raytheon Wins $291 Million For 660 Sidewinder Missiles For US and Other Countries

Raytheon is being awarded $291 million for modification to a previously awarded contract for procurement of 660 AIM-9X Block II All Up Round Tactical Full Rate Production Lot 16 Missiles for the Navy, Air Force, Army and the governments of Japan, Norway and Taiwan.

In addition, this modification provides for the procurement of 252 Block II Captive Air Training Missiles for the Navy, Air Force, and the governments of Japan, Norway, Turkey, Australia, Australia, and Taiwan; 13 Special Air Training Missiles for the U.S. Army and the Government of the Netherlands; 274 All Up Round Containers for the Navy,  Air Force, Army and the governments of Japan, Norway, Turkey, Netherlands, Australia, and Taiwan; 15 Captive Test Missiles for the Navy, Air Force and Army; one Lot of classified assets for the Government of Australia, US department of defense said in a statement Friday.

The contract also includes 22 Spare Advanced Optical Target Detectors for the Navy, Air Force, the governments of Norway and South Korea; 30 Spare Guidance Units (Live Battery) for the Navy, Air Force, and the governments of Norway and S. Korea; 30 Spare Captive Air Training Missile Guidance Units for the Navy, Air Force and the governments of Norway, Turkey, and Australia; 27 Guidance Unit Containers for the Navy, Air Force and the governments of Norway, Turkey, S. Korea, and Australia; 14 Spare Advanced Optical Target Detector Containers for the Navy, Air Force, and the governments of Norway, South Korea and Belgium; two Spare Block 1 Propulsion Steering Sections for the governments of Turkey and Denmark; four Spare Block II Propulsion Steering Sections for the governments of South Korea and Taiwan; spares for the Navy, Air Force and 16 lots of spares for the governments of  Finland, Denmark, Australia, Japan, Israel, Turkey, Netherlands, Singapore, Malaysia, Oman, Switzerland, South Korea, Romania, Belgium, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

Work is expected to be completed in March 2019.
