Russia Tests New Guarding Robot

Russia's Strategic Missile Forces (SMF) have tested a new guarding robot for launch silos, the Russian Defense Ministry said Thursday.

"A state-of-the-art robotized guarding system for SMF stationary facilities has passed military tests in the Kozelsk Missile Formation [Kaluga Region south of Moscow]," Sputnik reports citing a statement by the ministry.

The robot is capable of conducting aimed fire at distances of up to 400 meters. "The system if equipped with modern shooting and grenade launching systems. It is capable of conducting aimed fire in a circular sector… at ranges of up to 400 meters," it said.
