UK’s Lincad is developing a bespoke battery to power tactical radio equipment being manufactured by DTC international communications technology group.
The radio is designed to operate in harsh military environments and the battery will be appropriately ruggedised with a machined plastic housing for excellent resilience and strength and a full enclosure seal.
With a 14.4 Volt nominal DC power supply of 95 Watt hours and a high rate continuous discharge of 7.5A, the battery will have a wide discharge operating temperature of -10°C to +60°C.
It will also feature fully configurable software cell safety management with electronic hardware redundant backup for operational safety and electronic cell management for prolonged operational life. In addition to an on/off push button for ease of use, the battery will have a five LED display to provide battery status information.
With regional offices in the United States, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Singapore and Brazil, DTC develops high performance, overt and covert, video, audio, tracking and cellular solutions for surveillance operations in often challenging situations as well as cutting edge technologies for the wireless broadcast market.
