University Students Win $324 Thousand DRDO Satellite Imaging Project

Indian PES University students have won a Rs 2.2 crore project (US $324,000) that will assist in identifying suspicious ships through satellite imaging, from Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO).

Hyderabad-based Research Centre Imarat, which is part of DRDO has awarded the project called as Sindhu Netra to PES University, New Indian Express reported Thursday.

The awarded project follows launch of a satellite developed by IIT Bombay students with the help of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The student satellite, Pratham, was launched by ISRO's four-stage Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) at the Sriharikota's Satish Dhawan Space Centre.
