Indian Air Force Inaugurates Second C-130J Squadron Complex

A new C-130J squadron complex has been inaugurated in West Bengal state of India to strengthen the operational capabilities of the Indian Air Force.

The Squadron complex at Panagarh, which is an operational unit consisting of two or more flights of aircraft, will be inaugurated by Marshal of the Indian Air Force, Arjan Singh, Press Trust of India reported today.

The complex is second C-130 squadron of the IAF after Hindan which will house a squadron of the Super Hercules aircraft.

Once equipped with the aircraft, the squadron complex in the "Air Force Station Arjan Singh", named after the 97-year-old Marshal of the IAF Arjan Singh, would be capable of undertaking all types of air transport missions in this sector.

Air Officer Commanding in Chief of Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal Anil Khosla said that Panagarh would become one of the most important air bases in the region following the arrival of the C-130 squadron.
