China To Build Four New Ships For Malaysian Navy

China has received an agreement to build new ships for the Royal Malaysian Navy.

The agreement signed last week is the first time, a Chinese contractor will build military equipment for Malaysia, Global Times reported Tuesday.

China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) signed the agreement with the Boustead Naval Shipyard in Malaysia to build four offshore multi-task ships designed for coast guard activities. 

Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan and Malaysian Defense Minister Hishammuddin Hussein oversaw the signing ceremony.
