Raytheon has purchased new-generation Unisys ClearPath Forward technology, which will used to develop software for helping to improve the performance of the Patriot Air and Missile Defense System.

Unisys ClearPath Forward is a secure, scalable, hardware-independent software environment for high-volume enterprise computing.

The new-generation ClearPath Forward technology that Raytheon has purchased uses a software-based fabric architecture for faster and more efficient interconnection of components across the computing infrastructure, Unisys Corp announced Monday.

The new-generation ClearPath Forward technology boosts system performance while delivering the security of the ClearPath OS 2200 operating environment.

The ClearPath operating environments are the only ones on the market in which user data has never been forcibly extracted.
