Missing IAF Sukhoi-30MKI's Wreckage Found

The wreckage of the Indian Air Force’ Su-30MKI fighter jet that went missing four days ago has been found.

“Wreckage found. Close to the last known position of aircraft. As of now weather is bad and the place has dense foliage. Further update follows,” IAF said in an official statement Friday.

IAF’s frontline aircraft went missing around 11 am on Tuesday, 60 kilometres north of Tezpur. The aircraft was on a routine mission. The aircraft disappeared with two pilots onboard, at 70°03' N n 92°30' E near Kalaktang in West Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh. The aircraft had lost its contact at Narayanpur area in Lakhimpur district of Assam.

The region near China border was witnessing unfavourable weather when the multi-role fighter jet lost control with the ground control.
