Iran’s Army Ground Force will likely receive locally-made advanced battle tank dubbed “Karrar” by March next year, local media reports.
Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, Iran’s Army Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari said the domestic experts are working on the process of delivering Karrar tanks to the Army Ground Force and its most likely by the end of the current Iranian year i.e. March 20, 2018.
“The Karrar tank is a very good, ideal and operational tank that has been tested and used in war games,” he said.
The commander further emphasized that upgrading military equipment, including armored vehicles, is on the agenda of the Army Ground Force.
Unveiled this year in March, Karrar tank is equipped with an electro-optical fire control system and laser range-finder and is capable of hitting moving and fixed targets. Karrar’s earlier version is already in service, together with other locally-made tanks like Zolfaqar.
