Polish firm PCO SA, a manufacturer of optoelectronic devices and laser systems, will equip Ukrainian armored vehicles with modern optics under a contract signed with Ukraine's state-run UkrOboronProm.

PCO SA will equip more than 30 units of Ukrainian armored vehicles with modern optics. Optical sights, day-and-night optical observation devices and periscopes are also on the list of Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and will be supplied under the contract, the Ukrainian firm said in a press release Wednesday.

The preliminary work that began with negotiations at international exhibitions allowed to successfully test Polish devices – installing those on armored vehicles – to carry out codification and receive certificates for upgraded night vision devices that can be installed on BMP-1, BMP-1CS, BRM -1K etc.

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Poland Bartosz Kownacki said that this is the first step in this field, which opens a perspective cooperation between Poland and Ukraine in development and modernization of modern armored vehicles.
