Semey Engineering JSC, the company of the defense sector of the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has signed a framework agreement with Russia’s Rosoboronexport for full cycle overhaul and modernization of armoured vehicles at its facility.

"The plant for repair and modernization, located in the city of Semey, will be equipped with modern equipment for the repair of armored vehicles of Soviet and Russian production, which is in the service of the army of Kazakhstan. In addition, we will teach the personnel of the enterprise the methods and technological features of repair and modernization of the entire range of serviced products ", said Alexander Mikheev, Director General of Rosoboronexport during Army-2017 International Military and Technical Forum, held from Aug. 22 to 27, 2017, in the Patriot Park near Moscow.

Under the contract, Rosoboronexport will carry out the entire range of works and services for the design, supply of special equipment, spare parts and materials, tooling tools and the transfer of technical documentation. The Kazakh side will have the opportunity to conduct a full cycle of overhaul and modernization of tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers of Soviet and Russian production.

At present, the special exporter is carrying out the equipment and construction of similar centers for the overhaul and modernization of Soviet and Russian armored vehicles in several countries around the world.

"We consider the provision of technical readiness of military products as the most important component of our work.The effectiveness of the system of technical readiness depends on the quality of the delivered products during their life cycle and, ultimately, the image of Rosoboronexport as a supplier of this equipment," added Alexander Mikheyev.

In addition to creating centers for the overhaul of defense products, Rosoboronexport offers foreign customers mobile service complexes to ensure the repair of military equipment. In 2017 our first successful delivery for the land forces of one of the countries of Latin America was completed. The results of the operation of the complex confirmed the efficiency and reliability of the proposed system of maintenance and repair.

Currently, negotiations are underway to supply mobile service complexes to a number of countries. Depending on the needs of the foreign customer, they can be designed for all types of armed forces and combat arms.
