Rosoboronexport Announces Plans To Export Cyber Security Products

Russian state arms exporter Rosoboronexport signed an agreement with Concern Avtomatika on exports of Russian cybersecurity systems in 2017-2019 at Army-2017 International Military and Technical Forum Tuesday.

"According to the document, the special exporter will export systems and means of information security in 2017-2019. The strategy of the Rostec state corporation [which includes Rosoboronexport] until 2025 aims annual revenue growth from entering ‘smart’ product markets, including electronics and security systems," Rosoboronexport said in a statement Tuesday.

"We see demand for various projects linked to ensuring cybersecurity. Rosoboronexport offers its foreign customers projects on monitoring social networks, counteracting viruses, encryption and other IT aspects. That is a new area in defense industry cooperation and we are actively developing it. Now we are working on about 10 projects related to this," said Rosoboronexport’s Director General Alexander Mikheev.

Rosoboronexport launched a special project called Security Systems Produced in Russia with a special cluster of Russian manufacturers having been created to implement the project. The systems ensure security of Russian state bodies as well as critical military and civil infrastructure.
