AAI Corp. Textron Systems, and General Atomics part of the six companies awarded a previously announced $499 million contract for the Aerospace Systems Air Platform Technology Research (ASAPTR) program.
These contracts provide research for affordable, revolutionary capabilities for the warfighter, the US Department of Defense said in a statement Tuesday.
Aurora Flight Sciences, Lockheed Martin and Northrop are the other three companies who are already part of the contract. The DoD still has to announce the sixth company in the project.
The USAF had picked Aurora, Northrop and Lockheed Martin in August last year for the ASAPTR program.
Work is expected to be completed by Aug. 31, 2025. This award is the result of competitive acquisition and six offers were received.
