Boeing is the final company to be awarded a $499 million multiple award, fair opportunity shared ceiling contract for six companies for the Aerospace Systems Air Platform Technology Research program.
These contracts provide research for affordable, revolutionary capabilities for the warfighter. Work is expected to be completed by Aug, 31, 2025, US department of defense said in a statement Wednesday.
AAI Corp. Textron Systems, and General Atomics were recently awarded $499 million as the fourth and fifth companies to join the ASAPTR program. Aurora Flight Sciences, Lockheed Martin and Northrop are the other three companies who are already part of the contract.
The USAF had picked Aurora, Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin in August last year for the ASAPTR program.
This award is the result of competitive acquisition and six offers were received and six awarded. Fiscal 2017 research and development funds in the amount of $100,000 are being obligated at time of award.
