A Royal Saudi Air Force Typhoon aircraft has reportedly crashed during its combat mission against Houthi fighters over Yemen on Wednesday.
The Saudi-led coalition at war in Yemen says the Typhoon warplane crashed into a mountain in Al Wade’a district on September 13 killing its pilot identified as Mahna al-Biz, Saba news agency reported.
According to authorities, the aircraft suffered a technical failure during a CAS (Close Air Support) mission.
It is the second death this week of a coalition fighter pilot. In August, a UAE Black Hawk military helicopter crashed in Yemen killing the four on board personnels.
