UAE Military Delegation Visits Russian Army's Tank Division
A military delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) visited the Kantemirovskaya tank division, Moscow region, Western Military District earlier this week.
The visit is in the light increased interest on part of the UAE in Russian military equipment following its usage in the Syrian civil war. The UAE had awarded the Russian agency Rosoboronexport a US$708 million contract for anti-armor missiles during the IDEX 2017 show earlier this year.
The UAE Armed Forces delegation headed by Major General Saleh Mohammed Al-Ameri met with the division command to discuss the cooperation between Russia and the UAE in military sphere, and looked over educational infrastructure and barracks of the formation, a Russian MoD release said Thursday.
TIn addition to land equipment, the UAE has shown interet in the Russian Su-35 fighter jet .
