Russia has sent the second batch of 10 Su-35 fighter jets to China under a 2015 contract to supply 24 fighter jets TASS reported an unnamed source from Russia’s military and technical cooperation agency.
"Another batch of 10 aircraft has been sent to the customer. China will receive the remaining 10 aircraft in 2018," the source said. Four aircraft had been delivered towards the end of 2016.
The TASS report said that the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation has declined to comment on the subject.
Russia and China clinched a deal for 24 Su-35 fighter jets to the tune of at least $2 billion in November 2015. The contract also covers the ground equipment and spare engines.
China had wanted local manufacture but Russia offered to supply the full aircraft instead stating that that order contract was small.
