The US Air Force has awarded a $15 million contract to AAI Corp. for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance services through unmanned aircraft systems, the Department of defense announced last Friday.
The contract will be performed in Afghanistan in support of US air force and ground forces operations.
In addition, the contract also calls for AAI to support force protection of ground forces and government assets, while providing a non-developmental solution for UAV intelligence missions.
“AAI Corp., Hunt Valley, Maryland, has been awarded a $15,670,445 firm-fixed-price contract for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) services, to include supporting force protection efforts and providing a non-developmental Contractor-Owned and Contractor-Operated UAS ISR solution to perform operational, engineering, and sustainment efforts,” the statement said.
Work will be performed at Bagram and Kandahar Airfields, Afghanistan, and is expected to be complete by September 27, 2018.
