The Singapore Defense Forces (SAF) has called for applications from interested parties to adopt retired dogs from their Military Working Dog Unit.
“These dogs have served with pride and distinction and the SAF hopes to put them in good homes to spend their retirement, purely as companions (not guard dogs), with people who will love and care for them as much as their SAF handlers do,” the Singapore MoD said in a statement.
The MoD calls for interested parties to adopt the dogs as part of this year’s adoption drive.
“If you love dogs and are able to accommodate a large dog in your home, do consider adopting one of these retired military dogs. They have basic obedience training and have had their health checks done by in-house veterinarians. The dogs are vaccinated annually and put through a heartworm prevention programme,” the MoD stated.
