Turkey has accepted 30 Kirpi II (loosely translates to Hedgehog II) TTA vehicles under the TTA-2 project.

The under-secretariat for defense Industries (SSM) has carried out the acceptance of 30 Hedgehog II TTA vehicles under the TTA-2 project, @SavunmaSanayii posted on Twitter Wednesday.

The vehicle is manufactured by BMC. In August last year, Turkey had signed a contract with BMC Otomotiv  for the purchase of 529 tactical wheeled vehicles (TWV).

The purchase of 529 tactical wheeled vehicles has been planned by the SSM in order to increase the operational capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces in areas where terrorist attacks have been carried out and that it has been decided to proceed with the domestic development project model in this project.

Activities carried out under the framework of the evaluation of the proposal submitted to the SSM have been completed and an agreement has been reached on cooperation with BMC Otomotiv as the main contractor for the project.

Following the completed negotiations, the TTA-2 Project Agreement was signed with a ceremony held at the SSM on Aug. 8, 2017. SSM stated that new KIRPI (Hedgehog) Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles will be supplied under the contract.
