The Iranian Defense Ministry has launched a production line for its Fakour-90 radar based medium range missile.
"The missile had been developed based on operational needs and in cooperation with the Army, Air Force of Iran," the State-run IRINN TV reported quoting Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami who visited the official ceremony on Monday.
The Fakour-90 missile, a radar-based medium-range can be mounted on Iranian Armed Forces' F-14 fighter jets.
Domestically upgraded and identical to the AIM-54 Phoenix, it is partially reverse engineered version of the famous long range missile carried by the United States Navy Tomcat.
The missile was unveiled and successfully test-fired in 2017.
