AeroVironment was awarded a $17.6 million contract to supply RQ-20B Puma AE II United States Digital Data Link M1 and RQ-12A WASP Block IV US Digital Data Link M1 systems and support to Norway.

Work is expected to be completed by July 25, 2019, the US department of defense said in a statement Thursday.

The Puma AE (All Environment) is a small unmanned aircraft system (UAS) designed for land based and maritime operations. Capable of landing in the water or on land, the Puma AE empowers the operator with an operational flexibility never before available in the small UAS class.

Puma AE has a Gimbaled payload, 360 degree continuous pan, +10 to -90 degrees tilt, stabilized EO, IR camera, and IR Illuminator all in one modular payload. The UAS has a range of 20 km, an endurance of 3+ hours and can be hand-launched or rail launched.
