General Electric Wins $273M to Upgrade Egyptian F-16 Fighter Jet Engines

General Electric Aviation has been awarded a $273.5 million modification contract to upgrade engines of the Egyptian Air Force’s F-16 fighter jets.

The contract is for Service Life Extension Program conversion kits of the F110-GE-100 engines. Work will be performed in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is expected to be completed by Oct. 30, 2023, a US DoD announcement said Wednesday.

The Egyptian Air Force has received a total of 220 F-16s in 2015 under the Peace Vector Programme of which 195 are currently in service.
