WATERLOO, Ontario --- Raytheon Company has been awarded a $16 million subcontract by the BAV Division of VSE Corporation to provide Romania with two High-Frequency Surface Wave Radar systems.>> Raytheon Canada's HFSWR system provides continuous, all-weather coverage to enable Romania to protect its maritime sovereignty in the Black Sea. The system detects and monitors any vessel movement throughout the country's 200 nautical mile (370 kilometers) Exclusive Economic Zone.>> Raytheon Canada and Defence Research and Development Canada collaborated to develop the technology that helps countries strengthen their security along the coastline.
